    While Elkan is Sleeping...

Thanks to Tracy and the magic of still-animation.  - here are some fun clips of how 3 super-bored adults had fun when their favourite monster boy was sleeping. (2 short clips - "Massage Hippo" and "Toy Story III"! ) Better not show Elkan this tomorrow... I am sure he will freaked out and he will not want to sleep again!

The Famous 8 (Live at Causeway Bay!)

This is certainly not some photoshop image. It was taken "live" at 7pm on 30th May 2009 at Causeway Bay's busiest traffic crossing!  For that 20-minute of fame, we are the "Famous 8" of the day! Wait till you see the mass of crowd below this big mega screen!

    Zach Day

I was crossing China-HK Custom when Juliana spoke to me in her usual loud voice. Just 10 seconds ago, Felicia delivered the good news to me - Zach is out! Trust me, she didn't sound like a woman who have just gave birth. She was in her usual tone and manner - "Yeeehheeee, yalor...me just gave birth!" My goodness, it is either giving birth is becoming effortless these days or Juli was still high on "coke"?

Zach arrived 3 hours before Felicia's flight to HK on 22nd May 2009 (my favourite number!) I have no luck with Zach - I was in Singapore for 11 days and Juli was still belly-sitting him around! I even tried to create a "panic" to get Zach popped out by "accidentally" spilled a full cup of Iced Milo over Juli. (Trust me, it is a myth that pregnant woman is slow in reaction. You should see how lightning fast Juli reacted in that spilt nano-second to avoid the oncoming Milo!)

Congrats to both King Duuk and Queen Juli. From the photo, I am sure you have an adorable and active prince. He will be as witty and wise like his dad and as authorative like his mum. Haaaa.. I better count my blessings in the coming days - Juli will be back to her "Aiyoh!" snaps once again! I have been poking really bad jokes on her since she sported that belly!

    Have fun with parenthood!

    Cool Hokkien Phases!

It is no wonder why my Hong Kong friends mistaken our rough Hokkien phases as Jap words. Now we know... Hokkien can be so kawaii! Long Live Kanena Ninabu!

    More Singapore Happy Shots!

Finally back to Hong Kong. I have just downloaded all my travel photos and now putting them up on my blog! My gosh, I have spent 3 weeks away for work and leisure! Here are some of the very best photos taken in my Singapore Trip (that I missed out in my previous blogs!) ENJOY!

My Last Stop - Zhuhai Massage and Dinner with Yiyi!

Meeting Yiyi in Zhuhai was my last stop in China. My 1-week China tour has finally ended. I think I put on back the 5KG I lost before my Singapore trip! Today, I had a great body oil massage and a good Shanghai dinner in Zhuhai! All thanks to Yiyi for her great hospitality!

    New Flu Gadget

First, it was The MASK! Then came the EAR THERMOMETER. And now, the GUN. (Photo Taken: Zhuhai Ferry, China)

Now the new travel trend in China -
Before you alight from any transport, a medical crew will be boarding the vessel, armed with these guns and "zap" at the passengers' forehead. Only when you are zapped and cleared by the medical officer, you can then alight from the vessel.

    Stranded in Beijing Airport

I was extremely unhappy and disappointed with the service carrier, Cathay Pacific!  In fact, it was my second unpleasant encounter with CX in just 5 days! My departure flight from Singapore to HK was delayed for an hour and the CX staff gave us inconsistent excuses. At the waiting lobby, a man said "it was due to a suspected case of swine flu, we have to disinfect the plane." Once onboard, the pilot made an apology, stating that the delay was caused by a technical problem and they have to repair the plane! Man, it was all but bullshit!

Not surprisingly, Tracy's return flight back to HK was met with more frustating experience. She and the other 200 over passengers were made to sit inside the plane for 3 hours - while the engineers were fixing the plane. Pure stupid or what, can't they check the plane first before getting the passengers to board!?

But none of these 2 bad experience beat my last one. I was stranded in Beijing Airport for bloodly 7 hours! And throughout the first 2 hours of my ordeal, there was no official explanation for the delay. This was my experience.

    At the VIP Lounge
I was at the lounge. The pretty and friendly lady came and reminded me that my flight is taking off soon.
She asked me to proceed to the my boarding gate 16.

    Rejection at Gate 16
There was a queue at Gate 16 and it was heading for HK. I was rejected at the gate as it wasn't my flight.
I was told that my gate has changed to Gate 11.

Not a ghost at Gate 11
I ran to Gate 11 and can't find any one there. No one at the counter. There was no plane at all!
I was still within time. I checked with another officer. They told me to go to Gate 28. I ran to Gate 28.
They announced that the plane will be delayed for 1 hour. I went back to my lounge to rest.

2 Hours later - Proceed to Gate 57
They said the plane has arrived and did some maintenance.
After 2 hours, I was informed by the lounge lady to proceed to Gate 57 for boarding.

No plane at Gate 57 - Wait another 3 hours
When I arrived at Gate 57, there were a lot of people. And there was no sign of my plane.
I was then informed that our plane was faulty and we may need to wait for another 2-3 hours!
The best thing was - none of the CX crew can confirmed if we can fly out or not.

They gave out food coupon and asked us to return 2-3 hours later. Some of the passengers were yelling at the counter staffs, demanding them for accurate instruction and more transparency on the delay. All the crew can said "We are not sure of the situation and we cannot commit."

    Gate changed to Gate 19!
2 hours later, I went back to Gate 57 - there isn't a ghost there.
Except a note which said - Flight changed to Gate 19!

By that time, I was tried, angry and pissed off. I tried calling CX hotline and its lines were fully engaged!
I went to the VIP Lounge and made a complaint - they said they can't help me. If I were to make a complaint, I will have to make it online on email! What kind of service was that!!!!???

    Flew out 7 hours later!
I gave up trying. I just sat there in disbelief! How can a reputable airline make such a mess! The crew was 100% unprepared to take on crisis like this. And seriously, none of them know how to react to the affected mass. Most the passengers were grumbling amongst themselves about the poor standard of CX. Finally, after 7 hours of waiting in the airport, I flew out of Beijing to HK! (My total transit time - door to door - took me 14 hours!)

I am totally disgusted by the standards of CX! Worst of all, they do not have the basic skillsets to contain a situation like this. There have been delays from other airlines but they handled those issues very well. SQ even paid me $500 cash + free upgrade to Business Class when they screwed up my seating and timing. That is first class. No wonder, SQ won World Best Airline for many years! For CX, they are just full of cheap words and slow meaningless action.

CX, forget about spending more money on branding and brandwashing minds! What you need is to ensure that your company deliver what you promised! The experience! That is something what advertising can't help you! Fly a kite instead if you can't fly a plane right!

    The City of Giants

I am back in Beijing this week to complete what I didn't accomplished in my last short trip. It may sound stupid, but I have promised myself to visit the famous "bird nest" and "water-cube". Okay, I am not really into sports but I am one of those who want to touch and see whatever I saw on TV. Haaaa... sounded like a real "himbo". (Hey! You have no idea what I watch on TV.) No matter what, I just want to tick some of these unfulfilled boxes on my list this year.

I was in Beijing during her hottest days in May - 34-35 degrees! Am I lucky or what? The sun and the heat was unbearable. The weather forecast said the weather is going back to its norm 19-25 degrees this weekend! (Urghhh...by then, I will be back to HK!)

    I have a great host - Hovman!
And he knows exactly what I like! And he brought me to many interesting places - good food, cool space and lots of art! Mmm... the only thing he missed out is the GIRLS! Okay, just a good host - not great.

2 nights ago - Hovman brought me to see the "Great LED of Beijing". My first words "My god, the Chinese is incredible! Are they inferior or what? What are they building such big stuffs AGAIN?" I began to think this must be a "Chinese Thingy"- The Chinese like to build big, enormous, giantic, mammoth, massive, extraordinary things!!! They have the Great Wall, the Bird Nest, the WaterCube, the Three Gorges Dam, the Basketball player Yao Ming .... and by 2010, they are going to have the world's biggest "Great Wheel" in Beijing Chaoyang Park. Meet the real Harry!

He has more wiz and magic than Harry Potter. He created an island far more powerful than the one in "LOST". And he created a society that is well-respected by many. He created an identify I am proud to carry. He doesn't carry any wand - his men carry the whip. He is a HERO to many and Villian to some. Some fear him while many respect him.

His most powerful spell (ERP) "Expecto Reducto Portal" vaporised your money into the thin air. He is "Who Must Not be Named" in most kopitiams... He is no ordinary Harry... We have a codename for this great man - LKY.

Blast Off to the Big 3!

Tracy has been working with me longer than anyone else.
In fact, she has been through 3 companies with me, from Singapore to Shanghai to Hong Kong. She is never a pretentious or an unreal "corporate-packaged" girl. Tracy is more like your typical "Rachael" of Friends. She is direct, crude, dangerously clumsy and very candid. Most importantly, she is one-of-a-hell loyal assistant! She is always the "girl under the radar" and I never think she ever make any big impact in the corporate world.

I brought her back for my event this May. 3 of my clients came to me and sang her praises. I was very surprised - cos these are the "hard cookies" who don't normally give good words. I was so proud of her and felt so happy for her. And last night, we had an informal "birthday drink" with Tracy and friends at Clarke Quay. I rewarded Tracy by participating in her birthday dare - "The Reversed Bungy!"

    My 1st Puppy Love

Through the wonders of Facebook, I managed to "reconnect" my friendship with Ida after nearly 18 years. I sent her a surprise gift on her birthday and we met over the past few nights to catch up those "good old days". As I was extremely packed with work over the past 10 days, Ida had to accomodate with my schedule and I made her (with Yixi and Meijie) come all the way to my hotel lobby to meet me. Wow, this sure sound exciting - imagine me meeting my "puppy love" at my hotel lobby!!! Haaa....I bet many of my guys and ladies readers (who are mainly Felicia's buddies) are having second guesses about our night-outs... Sure, I did invited "her" up to my room to use the internet (what a good reason, right?). But disgustingly, 2 not so "Zi-tong" friends came along too and ransacked my room!

One of the most special moments between Ida and me was when she showed me a "love book" that I made for her 20 years ago! (My god, it was filled with mushy texts and graphics!) I was touched that she has kept this book with her for the past 20 years. When I saw the book, thousands of images flashed back in my head - "it was like traveling back in time to 1990" I said this to Ida. It was a very strange feeling... Like a psychic, when I touched the book, I can see that lost images of yesterday. I was sitting there, very quiet... and feeling very sad - for I realised that that pure love and innocence weren't there in me anymore.  I remembered the time when I made that book. I was at my late-granny house.. And for that one moment, I felt so so so sad.

I hate to be sentimental again. And Ida can felt that too. For an uncomfortable moment, we just sat there, not knowing how to break the silence. I asked her permission to keep this book for a couple of days. I took the book and she left (for Shanghai).

Meet the Origins of Heroes and Xmen

Alice brought back some really nice paper GOD-ICONS from her Taipei trip. She get us pick our own "GODS". Strange and amazing.. by some magical coincidence, the icons we picked out for ourselves are pretty matching to our own characters and vibes... Even the looks are the matching! Yeah, I am the RED HOT Dictative Chinese in this TRIO. The French boss is the Newy Sonic Ears Orange Red God and my Indian Buddy is the Far-Sighted Jade Green God.

Come to think of it... the Chinese Gods do have mutant-like powers... like the abilities to see a thousand miles or super-sonic hearing. My gosh! We created these mythical characters hundred years back (way way before the Hollywood superheroes movies/comics were created!). Marvel created the "Fantastic 4" but the Chinese has our own Marvelous "Ten Brothers"? However, we don't call them "mutants" or Xmen - we coined these special people as "GODS" with purposeful powers!

Yeah, we do have our own "Spiderwoman" - but she is typically known as the kickass, sexy hot Villian "蜘蛛精". Imagine we had a joint Chinese-Hollywood movie - Spider-man verus "蜘蛛精"! Wow!
